Soverel 36 - Flying Tiger (1-6 passengers)
Fun, Fast San Francisco Sailing Charters "Flying Tiger" is a
36-foot Soverel sloop. Flying Tiger was custom built by Mark Soverel
for offshore racing in the SORC (Southern Ocean Racing Circuit).
Flying Tiger was built for Mark Soverel's father (a pilot and a
Princeton alumni - thus the name). Raced professionally for several
years by Soverel Marine, Flying Tiger was later shipped to
California. On the west coast, Flying Tiger has been sailed to
Alaska and Mexico and raced extensively in San Francisco Bay.
I have owned Flying Tiger for over twelve years. Because I have
sailed her extensively on San Francisco Bay, I know the boat
extremely well and have her perfectly balanced for all conditions.
She is an easy boat for new sailors and a fast rocket-ship for the
experienced sailors. She is very responsive and sails well to a
light touch.
Flying Tiger is designed to the IOR (International Offshore
Racing) rule. She is very stable upwind, with an adjustable mast
that allows the mainsail to flatten and drive upwind "like she is on
rails". Off the wind the boat is fast and her tall rig allows for
the use of a masthead spinnaker for racing.
Flying Tiger is berthed in Sausalito. Flying Tiger loves the San
Francisco breeze and is faster than most other charter boats on the
San Francisco Bay.
Flying Tiger is ideal for San Francisco sailing charters. Whether
navigating under the Golden Gate Bride or gently sailing around
Angel Island, Flying Tiger provides a fast, enjoyable, safe and
memorable adventure. |
